Help support the trailer for this movie #NoJoke. Follow the journey of singer/songwriter Andrew Cole as he goes home to England to face the world of bullying he endured as a child. Then watch him rally an "army" of celebrities to share their own stories. It's about courage, it's about compassion, it's about a journey. A journey where we globally take a stand that bullying is #NoJoke

Bully Free Community Alliance is invited to participate in the
Global Youth Summit on Cyber bullying - Dublin, Ireland - May, 2015
In May, 2015, Bully Free Community Alliance was invited to participate in the Global Youth Summit on Cyber Bullying which was organized by Stop Cyber Bullying and held at the Facebook head office in Dublin, Ireland. Special thank you to the Town of Newmarket who helped us get there and to all the wonderful friends and professionals we met - Carol Todd, Barbara Coloroso, Parry Aftab. Through this 3 day amazing experience we were able to connect with youth and listen to what they need and how they try to navigate the social media world. From there we were able to bring back best practices to our community and continue the conversation on how we keep our children safe online.

We were very honoured to be invited to speak as witnesses on June 3, 2014 before the Committee of Justice and Human Rights in Ottawa on Bill
C-13 (Keeping Canadians Safe From Online Crime Act). One of our main messages was that our Federal Government put together a National Strategy along with any new Bill they put forward. Having consistent messages, education and awareness and supports across the country, and in all provinces, is key. It was an incredible experience and we hope that Bill C-13 is the first step forward in helping our law enforcements deal with online crime. Town of Newmarket - Community Fun Day/Real YOUth Night - May 2014
We continue to bring our message 'everyone belongs' into our community. After months of planning with the Newmarket Youth Rec Centre and Sk8 Park we had a great turnout of parents and children during the day and youth for the evening portion of the event. Great performances by youth, singing, drumming. Lots of food, music and fun had by all. Sponsored and supported by all the groups on the selfie booth banner.
Our Voice - Take Action - April, 2014
We again were part of the organizing committee of the third annual Our Voice Conference for students in the York Region District School Board. One way the YRDSB is listening to the student's voice. Lights was the Key note speaker this year and spoke about her experiences with bullying and perseverance. The workshops focused on bringing positive messages to each individual school and encouraged students to "Take Action" and implement their ideas into their schools. What an inspiration the students were, with great thought, provoking questions and fantastic ideas!
Ottawa - Keeping Canadians Safe from Online Crime - November, 2013
We were honoured and thrilled to be invited by the Prime Minister of Canada to be present in the House of Commons for the tabling of the new cyber bullying legislation - Keeping Canadians Safe from Online Crime. We hope this legislation moves quickly to become law and we hope that our country can come together and make decisions based on what is best for our children. Thank you for the first step.
York Regional Police Conference on Youth Mental Health and Well Being
Here we are doing our thing for youth mental health and well being and how bullying is related. Thank you to the York Regional Police for inviting us to be part of the conference and run workshops for grade 7/8 students. What a great group of kids! Our youth leader, Ana, was brave enough to share her story of how she was bullied. A lot of students related to her experiences and great discussions happened. Keeping the conversation going is key to raising awareness, providing education and removing the stigma.
